Soda Blast

Abrasive Blasting with Bi-Carb Soda Media requires specialized equipment due to the fact Bi-Carb media doesn’t flow as traditional abrasives do. We can help you to select soda blast equipment based upon your requirements. Portable units are designed to help flow the abrasive out of the pressurized unit. Cabinet Enclosures are designed to collect spent media and keep the enclosure free from dust.

Portable Units:

Schmidt® M-Series

The Schmidt® M-Series blasters are the most versatile blasters available. Use these blasters with virtually any abrasive media, from sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) and other fine abrasives to steel grit. One blaster does it all! Includes regulated pressure controls and full port bypass to blast at low to high pressures, a media vibrator to help ensure smooth, even flow of abrasive and the precise metering capabilities of the Thompson® Valve II. Comes standard with slotted sleeve for abrasives 80 grit and finer, which are used in a majority of applications. Add the optional tungsten sleeve for larger abrasive sizes and to maximize the range of the M-Series blaster.

As with any Schmidt system, the M-Series is fully customizable for your specific blasting operation.

Features:

  • 150 psi (10.3 bar)-rated, 90° cone bottom pressure vessel with integral lid and screen
  • Integrated load skid

Cabinet Enclosures:

When choosing a cabinet enclosure, the number one thing to take into consideration is the dust collection system. Bi-Carb soda media is not recyclable so spent media needs to be collected via drop out chamber or hi-efficiency dust collector.

Clemco/Aerolyte® Bicarbonator:

The Aerolyte Bicarbonator Pressure Blast Cabinets are designed specifically for use with sodium bicarbonate media for degreasing, cleaning, and paint stripping. Soda media is non-toxic, nonhazardous, and soft, making it ideal for delicate substrates; and it is water-soluble simplifying the process of residual media removal and disposal.

Unique patented ClearView™ ventilation technology provides outstanding visibility during soda blasting, unlike any other cabinet on the market.

The Aerolyte Bicarbonator Cabinet Features door interlock systems, Optional time-delay locking system, Double-wall, insulated doors, Full-opening doors with lift-off hinges, Full-length, neoprene-on-fabric gloves, Dual 15-watt fluorescent lights, Patented ClearView™ targeted high-velocity ventilation technology provides exceptional visibility, Unique air logic system maximizes air and media flow for blasting, ASME-code pressure vessel with 1/2” piping, Reverse-pulse cartridge dust collector immediately evacuates airborne dust and traps 99.7% of dust down to 0.5 micron and Robust, adjustable chrome latches.

Tilt-out window, Easy-to-reach pressure regulator, gauge, and electric switch, Built-in air gun conveniently located inside, a 3/16-inch (No. 3) orifice pressure blast nozzle which features a tungsten carbide liner, ensuring a long wear life rounds out the cabinet features.

Large hinged top and side door allow easy loading and removal of items. The unit incorporates an ASME rated pressure vessel that contains the Soda Blast Media, and our new control valve system is designed to efficiently regulate the flow of compressed air and media to the nozzle. The dust collector exhaust fans, combined with the air intake on the blast cabinet, create a dual airflow through both the upper and lower enclosure to provide excellent visibility during the cleaning operation.

In addition, the dust collector’s primary and secondary filters capture spent media and soils, which are removed in the cleaning process and retain this waste in the dust collector hopper for easy removal.
